Khasi Sticky Rice Rolls

Ingredients :

  • Ikai Organic Khasi sticky rice: 1 cup (soaked 4–6 hours). 
  • Banana leaves: 8 medium pieces (or foil).
  • Cabbage: ½ cup finely chopped.
  • Carrots: ½ cup julienned.
  • Green beans: ½ cup chopped.
  • Onion: ½ cup sliced.
  • Ikai Organic Ginger Powder: 1/4 tsp 
  • Ikai Organic Sunflower Oil: 1 tsp.
  • Salt & pepper: To taste. 

Method: Saute veggies 3–4 min with ginger, salt and pepper. Mix with drained rice. Wrap in banana leaves, steam 25–35 min in steamer pot.

Serving Suggestion: Slice rolls, serve hot with black sesame chutney or soy-ginger dip; ideal festival snack or starter. 

Cooking Tips:  

  • Soak rice in cold water for chewiness; use black rice for a nutty flavour.
  • Seal leaves tightly with a string; an idli steamer alternative.
  • Vegan/gluten-free; store uncooked wraps refrigerated up to 2 days.
