Dagad Phool, known as Kalpasi or black stone flower, is a lichen (a composite organism formed by fungus and algae) found in the Himalayan region and the hilly regions of peninsular India. It grows on trees and stones. Our Natural Dagad Phool, sourced from Maharashtrian, gives a distinct flavour and colour to foods. It is used in Maharashtrian recipes such as goda masala and also in some Chettinad preparations. It can be used in biryanis, curries, stews, and masalas.
