Product description

A short grain, quick cooking rice, the exquisite aroma of Ambemohar will remind you of mango blossoms. Ambemohar actually means Mango blossom in the Marathi language. The favoured rice of the Peshwa rulers, our Organic Ambemohar Rice has recently been Geographically tagged to the Mulshi region of Pune district in the eastern foothills of the Sahyadri range in Maharashtra. It makes the best local Rice Khanji or Bhataji Pej. It’s cooked on auspicious occasions and festivities.

Why eat it

It is easy to digest and keeps the stomach light. The aroma spreads far and wide and is fresh and fruity. This variety was dying out, as it is labour intensive and low yielding. Calling all rice connoisseurs to dig in so that this heirloom rice from Maharashtra can be saved for future generations!

Key Benefits

This rice is easy to digest and is often given to people recovering from illness. It supports gut health by nourishing beneficial gut flora, is naturally gluten-free, and its complex carbohydrates provide sustained, long-lasting energy without causing heaviness.

Your Aambemore rice is really awesome and very addictive! I have stopped making the other rice now even though those are only half consumed. Even the mixed dal tastes much better than the market bought mixed dal packet. Will definitely order some more soon. Any other gems that I should try next time I order?
